Clifford L. Claypoole, 79, of Arnold died at noon Wednesday (July 24, 2002) at his home.

Born May 17, 1923, in Worthington, he lived in the Valley all his life.

An Army veteran, he served during World War II.

He worked at Haskel in Pittsburgh for 17 years before retiring six years ago. Previously, he was a milkman for 32 years for Keystone Dairy, New Kensington.

Mr. Claypoole was a member of the Outdoor Lodge, Fawn, and the Teamsters union of Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia Reo Claypoole; a son, Dennis (Joann) Claypoole of Sorrento, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie (Bob) Derr of Gladwyne; a brother, Greer (Alberta) Claypoole of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Erma (James) Ross of New Kensington.

Also surviving are four grandsons, Joseph Claypoole, Matthew Claypoole, Noah Claypoole and Clifford Claypoole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Zelma Bowser Claypoole.

Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the GIUNTA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be the Rev. Gene Miller. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
